On 2 March 2026, the recently established Public Lending Right International (PLRI) association convened for its inaugural Annual General Meeting. On this occasion, seven new member organisations were ratified.
A warm welcome to our new members ANFASA (Academic and Non-Fiction Authors Association Of South Africa), CEDRO (Centro Español de Derechos Reprográficos, Spain), Copyright Polska (Stowarzyszenie Autorów i Wydawców, Poland), FUIS (Federazione Unitaria Italiana Scrittori, Italy), Luxorr (Luxembourg), Sanasto (The Finnish Literary Copyright Society, Finland) and the Icelandic Library Fund, managed by the Writers’ Union of Iceland.
In addition, two important decisions were taken:
- SAVE THE DATE: The bi-annual PLR International Conference 2026 will take place on 23–24 September in Rome, in collaboration with Federazione Unitaria Italiana Scrittori (FUIS). Keep your calendars open and join us in the Eternal City!
- JOIN PLRI AS MEMBER: The application period for potential members is officially expanded, and new members will be ratified at an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for late August.
